Dutch language immersion program

To learn Dutch is fun, and if you already speak English and have maybe knowledge of an other European language, it will be even easier. Learning Dutch would be easiest if you can afford to spend a few months in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, or any other Dutch town and live surrounded by native Dutch speakers.

Learn Dutch with Audios

That is however not possible for most of us, so that the next best thing to succeed learning Dutch is to listen to Dutch audios. With an audio recording of voices in 'original' native Dutch you get immediately the right accent and don't have to work hard later to eliminate bad pronunciations.

Students who learn to speak Dutch with audios always have a much better pronunciation and often don't have a foreign accent when speaking Dutch. That's why it's so important to first use audios exclusively when you start learning Dutch or any other second language.

Learning Dutch online can advance your Dutch later, once you have properly absorbed the melody of the Dutch language in your brain. Books, Dutch grammar and vocabulary too, need to wait first.

How to learn Dutch:

It's highly recommended to first listen and speak only. No reading Dutch, no learning Dutch grammar. Just Dutch conversation.

Learning short Dutch phrases and getting the melody of the language is the foremost goal. With about 200 to 300 Dutch words you can get by. Using the Dutch audios on this site, you can achieve an excellent mastery of the Dutch language and build the foundations to then go deeper and perfect your Dutch language skills.

What satisfied customers say about the Pimsleur DUTCH audios:

This is a short introduction to useful phrases in Dutch. It was very helpful as far as it went, but it would be great if Pimsleur were to do a full 3 course series for this language. I've used Pimsleur for one other language and they are the best tapes I've used. Pronunciation is very clear and unmistakable. This course was worth the money, but I wish it would have gone further. -- P.T. Cruiser,CA,USA

I used this course intensively prior to a trip to the Flemish-speaking part of Belgium, and found it very useful. Like all the Pimsleur abridged sets, this course is tantalizingly brief -- it leaves you wanting more. Nonetheless, what these courses do, they do well, and that is to inspire your confidence to open your mouth and speak the language. I was comfortable exchanging polite pleasantries in Dutch and ordering meals and drinks in restaurants -- no mean feat where people are only too happy to speak to you in English! -- A satified customer (prefers to stay anonymous)

I don't know how they do it, but Pimsleur make learning a language effortless. It's such a pleasure to listen to the tapes and speak with them, and pretty soon you can do it without even thinking. I kept the tapes in my car and listened to each one over and over until I knew it so well it became boring- then I went on to the next tape. I wish so much they had more tapes to continue with, because now I'm finished with these. -- L. T. Reed, United States
